New York GOP is ‘dead’ after NY LOSS FOR GOVERNOR — time to ‘build something new’
New York GOP is ‘dead’ after NY LOSS FOR GOVERNOR BY ZELDIN. TIME to ‘build something new’ Until this happens, I DO NOT SUPPORT THE NY REPUBLICAN PARTY... This treatment by this team and NY GOP is UNACCEPTABLE TOWARDS THE LATINO COMMUNITY!!!
The mood within the Republican/ Conservative base is somber in New York. Especially within the Latino/Dominican conservative community.
We see days after a near-historic win in NY from the Republican party led by Rep. Lee Zeldin(R), sent a message beyond our imagination.
My team’s efforts was done with NO MONEY, NO VOLUNTEERS on the ground, NO TV or radio ads in Spanish throughout NYC.
Team Zeldin denied my constant request for funding for a ground roots efforts, TV and radio
Pattern developing NO support by several Team Zeldin staff. ( except Ashton Randle).
Ashton was the key to advocating for my team Latinos/Dominicans 4 Zeldin NYC and Team Zeldin. THANK YOU ASHTON RANDLE, We worked hard and you were a true champion for Team Zeldin. The ONLY one who cared about my community.
My team and I were able to secure ongoing coverage, oversee the coverage of the two main stream media ( Telemundo and Univsion). Team Zeldin/ Esposito received excellent coverage and was done so professionally and fairly every time.
***Unfortunately, the three staffers for Lee Zeldin ( Ben Wiener(24yrs) Press Secretary, Kate Vincentz(26yrs), Senior Communication Director, Jeff Peacock) did everything in their power to ignore my team on every move we did to be effective with this campaign as we represented the NYC Latino/ Dominicans. Their intention were so obvious with the “maltreatment” and ignoring any communication with the Latino mainstream medias ( Telemundo and Univision).
Note: What was Rep. ZELDIN thinking by appointing Ben(24yrs), Kate(26yrs) to lead his communication team.
My team worked tirelessly to connect, and maintain open communication with the two largest Latino networks in NYC. I personally arranged for interviews, coverages in NYC.
Both networks constantly would text, email me on every event, press conferences and made complaints of no communication from Team Zeldin and his communication team.
My team ( Latinos/Dominicans 4 Zeldin) was solely responsible for connecting Team Zeldin with the two major networks and the Latino community in NYC.
UNIVISION AND TELEMUNDO AVERAGE DAILY REACH:
In the second quarter of 2022, Univision's growth more than doubled to an average daily reach of 5 million, while Telemundo's average daily reach increased by 46% to about 2.2 million, according to data Samba TV provided to Marketing Brew. My team and I reached our goal of successfully giving Team Zeldin exposure beyond there imagination with the Latino community in NYC. We made several requests for funding to spearhead a ground game with volunteers, radio ads, and local small TV shows to connect with the Latino community. All were denied and Team Zeldin stated “ NO FUNDING AVAILABLE”
Again, all the above media efforts with Mainstream media were done with “ NO MONEY”, maltreatment by Zeldin’s communication team.
For the record, it was this particular team ( except Ashton) that caused embarrassment for Rep. Zeldin. There is a saying “ THE BUCK STOPS HERE” Rep. Zeldin choose this team and he is responsible for this team.
My repeated strong advise(s) for Team Zeldin to focus solely on NYC three (3) data prior to the election were completely ignored.
The repeated questioning on NO coverage of Latino events (ex. Dominican day parade, Latino galas, Guest appearances by Alison Esposito, candidate for Lt. Governor, Michael Henry, candidate for Attorney General, Joe Pinion, candidate for US Senator. For the record, the only candidate that posted events and interaction with the Latino/Dominican community was Paul Rodriguez, candidate for NYS Comptroller.
- NOTE: New York City’s turnout — which usually trails the rest of the state — dropped even further in 2022.
- In 2018, 44% of registered voters in the city turned out to vote for governor, compared to just 36% this year (2022).
- Meanwhile, non-NYC turnout remained the same: 55% in 2018 and 55% again this year (2022).
The unofficial break down at 96% expected votes counted:
3,024,061 (52.9%) Kathy Hochul(D), Incumbent
2,697,796 (47.1%) Rep.Lee Zeldin(R)
326,265 (DIF)
My analysis will likely shock many, some will be sadden, some will be angered.
My analysis will likely shock many, some will be sadden, some will be angered. The truth must be told.
I have been dealing with the NYC Republicans for year's.
I am going to get right to the point.
I lead a team called the NYC Latino/Dominicans 4 Zeldin for
NYS Governor.
I am proud to say that my team and I were able to spearhead a town hall in NYC In the heart of the Dominican community on 10/20/22.
This event hosted Rep. Zeldin for NY GOVERNOR, Alsion Esposito, Lt. Governor, Paul Rodriguez, NYS Comptroller. This was the first time EVER in NYC that the Republician party interacted with the Latino/Dominican community.
BELOW ARE THE UNOFFICIAL BREAKDOWN:
New York State Democratic party stronghold was shaken up for the first time as difficult it is for a Republican to win, however Lee Zeldin at the head and help by key groups helped the Republicans snatch
- six(6) seats in the NY State Assembly
- two (2 ) in the NY Senate
- Four(4) seats in the Federal Congress.
Note: One hundred (150) Assemblymembers in the State, Sixty-five(65) were occupied by New York City and only two(2) Republicans. Now the Democrats lost six(6) seats and the Republicans will have 7-8 in the city.

New York City’s turnout — which usually trails the rest of the state — dropped even further in 2022. In 2018, 44% of registered voters in the city turned out to vote for governor, compared to just 36% this year (2022). Meanwhile, non-NYC turnout remained the same: 55% in 2018 and 55% again this year.
That mattered for Hochul because Democrats are 68% of all active registered voters in New York City — even as the GOP, the registration party of 10% of city voters, made gains this year.
2018, when Democratic former Gov. Andrew Cuomo ran against Republican Marc Molinaro, New York City delivered 47% of Cuomo’s votes. Hochul got only 39% of her votes from the city — while Zeldin got nearly twice as many votes from the five boroughs as Molinaro did, accumulating more than half a million.
Hochul’s massive vote margins over her opponent in New York City and Westchester fueled her victory. Ultimately, Hochul was able to carry the race by winning just 13 out of the state’s 62 counties.
A big gap in voter turnout still distinguishes New York City from the rest of the state. The majority of voters in each borough did not cast a ballot for governor this election — including only 27% of registered voters in The Bronx.
Outside the city, by contrast, every county aside from Sullivan had a turnout rate above 50%.
We updated this article on Nov. 10 to reflect the latest vote counts. The updates didn’t change election results.
