Mayor Adams Statement on Impending Expiration of Title 42 and Influx of Busses Expected This Week NEW YORK  – New York City Mayor Eric Adams today released the following statement as  New York prepares for the potential for an influx of busses to arrive in New York City as early as next week once Title 42 is set to end: “Throughout its history New York has welcomed immigrants with open arms, and their success has been our success.  NYC spends $8 million a day to house migrants, plans to bus some upstate . The extent of authority for contagion-related expulsions is set out by  law in 42 U.S.C. § 265. Agents encountered over 10,000 migrants on multiple days, and there were more than 25,000 in custody as of Friday morning. The use of parole is being authorized if a sector capacity goes above 125%, if agents apprehend 7,000 a day over 72 hours or if average time in custody goes above 60 hours.
